We, the members of the Community Church of Rolling
Meadows believe:In one God, who has shown Himself as the Creator/Father, Jesus Christ, and The Holy Spirit. One God, yet known in three ways - a Trinity. God, the Creator/Father, is a Spirit, infinite, eternal, and unchangeable, in His being; totally complete in wisdom, power, holiness, justice, goodness, and truth. The Lord Jesus Christ is completely God and completely human. He was conceived by The Holy Spirit and born of the virgin Mary. He lived a sinless life, but then was put to death as a sacrifice for our sins. He was buried, and He rose bodily from the dead. He is now in Heaven, preparing it for everyone who has come to faith in Him. The Holy Spirit, is God present and working in the world and in the Church today. He was involved in creation, in the resurrection, and in our spiritual birth. The Holy Spirit guides, instructs, empowers, and gives spiritual gifts to believers so we may carry out the work of Christ. In the Bible, that the Old and New Testaments, originated in the mind of God and have been given to us by inspiration. Men and women who were guided by The Holy Spirit wrote it, and therefore it is completely accurate in the original writings. But it is more than just a book of sacred truths; it is the living voice of God. God speaks through its' pages. And it is the final authority for our Christian faith and life. In prayer, as both a duty and an unspeakable privilege. Since our congregation's humble beginnings, we have found prayer to be meaningful because God is alive and has already drawn near to hear us before we speak. It is through prayer that we have come especially close to God as we share with Him the joys and hurts of our experience. In Grace, which is what separates Christianity from all other religions and forms of spirituality. Grace and grace alone is the unshakable foundation of our faith. Every person on earth is a sinner, and sin separates us from God. All our efforts cannot bring us back into a right relationship with Him. But, what we are unable to do, God has already done through Christ. By His sacrificial death on the cross He has paid the penalty for our sins, and offers us the free gift of salvation. What we cannot earn, God has given to us. It is grace. In Heaven, as the ultimate destination for all those who have come to faith in Jesus Christ. We will live there with Him forever and ever. There will be no more death, no more grief or crying or pain. Marana tha |
